Playmates and play dates

One of my daughters played with dolls. The other loved teddy bears and other stuffed animals. My granddaughter's favorite playmates are dogs. Real ones.
She dresses them, strolls them, combs their hair, feeds them...just like her aunts did their toys.
That she prefers the real thing doesn't surprise me so much as the fact that they let her treat them like toys! But they do!
