On to Venice

We left by train for Venice on Monday morning. We stopped only briefly in Florence to let passengers off and on. It was a pretty trip. The Italian countryside between Rome, Lazio and Venezia, Veneto was gorgeous. Early Spring agrees with this part of the world.
The trip allowed us some time to rest and reflect on where we'd been and where we were headed. I listened to podcasts about Venice and napped a bit when the train was traveling too fast to enjoy the scenery.
A guide met us at the train station and oversaw our tranfer from there to a water taxi. Our hotel was just off Saint Mark's Square. We dropped off our bags and once again hit the ground running. This was the second leg of the "Never Let up Tour" and we were excited to explore Venice.
