Venice is unique. And that is an understatement. Her footings have not changed in centuries largely because the pillons she was built on would not permit much alteration. Her space is at a premium and essentially everything must be brought in and by these things her character is shaped.
Having spent our first evening in Venice wandering around, we had plenty of questions, once again, for our guide once we commenced our tour the next morning.
